What you are describing hair being pushed rather than cut is usually a sign that the blade is not seated correctly or the micro-adjuster needs to be set to the lowest position. Make sure the adjuster is all the way down and that the blade snaps firmly into the magnetic notches with no wobble. Also try adding a drop or two of clipper oil to the blade teeth before use as this can make a big difference.
